Video More Powerful Than Print?

Here’s curator of TED, Chris Anderson, with some interesting thoughts about the power of video to accelerate innovation. He knows a thing or two about online video and its power to spread ideas: the TED site has over 700 videos which have been viewed over 300 million times by people around the world (as of July 2010).

Here are a few snippets from the talk:

1. “Humanity watches 80 million hours of youtube everyday”

2. “What Guttenberg did for writing, online video can now do for face-to-face communication”

3. “Cisco estimates that within 4 years more than 90% of the web’s data will be video”

He raises some really potent and interesting questions: is video more powerful than print? Can video really be harnessed to fuel global innovation and learning?
